Project summary
CALFED needed a publicly accessible method to track the sale and transfer of
water between multiple agencies across the state of California, and to
simplify a cumbersome and confusing process for potential water buyers and
sellers in California.
Jel partnered with design agency ModCom and civil engineering firm CH2Mhill
to create the OnTap Web site (http://ontap.ca.gov/). Jel developed an
information resource that provides general information on water transactions
and the water transactions process; the interactive transaction guide, which
guides users through the steps involved in formulating a transactions
application; and the database, which provides a queryable, comprehensive
history of historical water transactions by integrating data from multiple
state agencies into one central data warehouse.
